We recently reported that the 2014 Bollywood rom-com '2 States' will be remade into Telugu. The remake rights are with Abhishek Pictures and the film will be directed by Venkat Kunchem, a VV Vinayak protege.

The news is that Naga Chaitanya has been roped in to play the lead role in the remake. This had been speculated for many days now. In an interview before the release of 'Premam', Chay had said that he liked '2 States' a lot and that he would do the remake if approached. Looks like the success of 'Premam' made the producer approach the Akkineni actor.

It has to be seen if it's going to be a Telugu-Tamil bilingual. Also, it has to be seen if Samantha will play the female lead's role. Both Samantha and Chaitanya hail from culturally different backgrounds. They both are from two different States. Based on Chetan Bhagat's novel of the same name, the famous novel tells the story of a Punjabi lad falling in love with a conservative Tamil Brahmin girl. In the original film, the roles were played by Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhat respectively.
