Well-known Kuchipudi danseuse Shobha Naidu is no more. The highly-regarded dancing talent passed away on Wednesday at a private hospital in Hyderabad.
A disciple of Vempati Chinna Satyam, she was an eminent personality in the cultural scene of the Telugu States for decades. A recipient of the Padma Shri (2001), Shobha Naidu was conferred the title of Nritya Choodamani by a cultural association.
It's said that she groomed more than 1,500 Kuchipudi aspirants/dancers in her illustrious career spanning decades.
