The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will declare the results of Class 12 board exams at 2 pm today and the same will be available on the board's result website – cbseresults.nic.in. The results can be accessed after candidates download their roll number from the CBSE roll number finder - cbseit.in/cbse/2021/rfinder/landing.aspx.
As the central government decided to cancel all board exams for students of the 2020-21 academic year, the exam results will be published based on an alternative marking scheme, where the students will be assessed based on their class 12, class 11 and class 10 marks. 40 percent of the total marks secured by a candidate in a theory paper will be calculated using their subject pre-boards or mid-term exams held by their schools earlier this year, while allotting 30% from their Class 11 final exam marks, and 30% from their Class 10 board exam results.
Following a review meeting that was held in early June to discuss the fate of the CBSE and other state board exams amid the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, PM Modi's Office released a statement which read, "Health and safety of our students is of utmost importance and there would be no compromise on this aspect. Anxiety among students, parents and teachers, which must be put to an end...Students should not be forced to appear for exams in such a stressful situation. All stakeholders need to show sensitivity for students."
"CBSE will now take steps to compile the results of Class 12 students according to per well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner," the PMO's statement added. Further, a CBSE release stated that for any student who is not satisfied with the assessment, an option to appear in the examination would be provided by CBSE as and when the situation becomes conducive.
