It's said that nobody can cheat the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). It seems that's a myth. The Central Bureau of Investigation has discovered that an IRS officer has been serving in the government for more than 10 years after successfully hoodwinking the UPSC, which conducts the IAS exam every year.

Navneet Kumar alias Rajesh Kumar Sharma, a 2008-batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, has been accused of forging educational certificates in order to be eligible to write the Cil Service Examination after he crossed his age limit. The CBI has booked him, who is currently a Deputy Commissioner with the CGST & Central Excise in Kolkata. He hails from Bihar.

It was the Directorate General of Vigilance which initiated the procedure of investigating him in 2017 on the basis of a complaint. The CBI found out that the accused had bought fake certificates under a new name and appeared for the UPSC exam.
