CBFC recommends cuts in Vijay's The GOAT before censor

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has imposed several conditions on Thalapathy Vijay's highly anticipated film, The Greatest of All Time, to secure a U/A rating. Despite the mandated alterations, the film's overall runtime remains at 2 hours and 59 minutes.
The CBFC required the removal or muting of certain words, including expletives and regional terms. Additionally, a brief reaction shot of a woman was cut, and the impact of a neck-slitting scene was reduced.
CBFC Edits for The GOAT:
Language:The CBFC requested the muting of specific words, including Iththa, F**k, Baadu, and Mayiru, which were used throughout the film, including in a song. Mayiru was allowed once. Desa Thandhai was also muted. Visuals: A two-second scene featuring the word Oththa was replaced. A one-second reaction shot of a woman was removed. The impact of a neck-slitting scene was modified. The certificate mentions no change in the film's duration, indicating the scene remains but with altered violence. Product Placement: The name of a liquor brand was removed. Smoking disclaimers were added to scenes depicting characters smoking.
These changes, while necessary to meet the CBFC's guidelines, are likely to disappoint some viewers who were anticipating the original, uncut version. However, the film's overall narrative and action sequences are expected to remain largely intact.
The Greatest of All Time, directed by Venkat Prabhu, boasts a star-studded cast featuring Prashanth, Prabhudheva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Ajmal Amir, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Parvati Nair, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, and others. The film will be released in Tamil and dubbed languages, as well as in IMAX format.
Despite the CBFC's requirements, the film's release remains highly anticipated. Vijay's dedicated fanbase and the film's promising trailer have generated significant excitement, and The Greatest of All Time is poised to be a major commercial success. While the film's content has been altered to meet the CBFC's standards, it is expected to deliver an exhilarating cinematic experience for audiences.
