The ghastly murder of Pranay, a Dalit from Telangana, months after he married Amrutha, a Vysya girl, shook the Telugu States in September 2018. The girl's father, Maruthi Rao, it has been accused by the police, got Pranay killed a few months after the marriage by paying Rs 1 Cr to a contract killer.

About 1.5 years and several charges later, Maruthi Rao has killed himself. This morning, he was found dead at Arya Vysya Bhavan in Hyderabad.

It's reported that Rao couldn't bear with the fallout on an emotional level. Soon after her husband was hacked to death, Amrutha told the media that she will never talk with her parents nor will live with them ever. She said that she will continue to live with her in-laws and has been doing so. Amrutha was pregnant with Pranay's child at the time of the murder. She has since delivered a healthy baby boy.

Speaking to the media soon after her father's suicide, Amrutha today said that she hadn't been speaking to him even on phone since her husband's murder.
