Hyderabad rape case which took place around two years ago, shook the entire nation. In this barbaric act of inhumanity, a 26 year old veterinary doctor was gang raped and burnt alive by four men. There was a huge uproar and outcry about the case in media and throughout the nation. Everyone demanded justice to be served and culprits to punished. Many Bollywood stars including Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan also made tweets demanding for justice.
Now a legal complaint has been filed against all these celebrities for using victims real name in their tweets. IPC section 228 forbids anyone from using a rape victims name on any media platform. Gaurav Gulati, a Delhi based lawyer, has accused a total of 38 Bollywood and Tollywood stars for sharing the name of victim on social media.
These celebs include Anupam Kher, Farhan Akhtar, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Maharaja Ravi Teja, Rakul Preet Singh, Allu Sirish, Charmme Kaur among others. The case has been filed to set an example for others to never reveal the name of a rape victim in media.
