In recent times Isaigniani Ilayaraja has taken the strong decision that his songs should not be sung in orchestras or other media unless royalty is paid to him.  Now 'Puli' producer P.T. Selvakumar and five other film producers have jointly filed a case against Ilayaraja stating that producers are entitled for 50 percent of the royalty amounts for a song and they have not received anything till date.

In the case it is claimed that producers pay Ilayaraja to score music for their films and hence he is not the sole owner and should share the royalties with them.  It is also said that a staggering 200 Crores is due in royalty amount.
