The eighties and the nineties were ruled by the comedy duo Goundamani  and Senthil, who were dubbed the Laurel and Hardy of Tamil cinema.  Senthil is a staunch ADMK supporter and is now holding a prominent position in the TTV Dinakaran faction.

Senthil has apparently used derogatory words on the Tiruchy MP Shiva who is an arch rival of Dinakaran in that region.  Shiva who supports the EPS-OPS side  has handed over a compilation of videos of Senthil’s controversial speeches to the Chennai Police who have filed a case. Dinakaran has also been named in the complaint for instigating Senthil.   It may be recalled that Senthil during the last assembly election campaign had also used derogatory words to attack DMK leader M. Karunanidhi which was condemned by many leaders.
