Prakash Raj is now in a legal trouble. A complaint has been filed against him by a lawyer over his remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence in the wake of journalist Gauri Lankesh's murder. A Lucknow court has admitted the case. It is scheduled to be heard on Oct 7.

On Sunday, the actor had said that Modi is trying to be a bigger actor than him. When he said if he should give his awards to Modi, it was seen as an Award wapsi threat. He then issued the below clarification:

"I'm surprised to see the news channels saying that I want to give up the awards. It's not my intention at all. I'm pained over the murder of Gauri Lankesh and over the fact that some of those followed (on Twitter) by our Prime Minister are celebrating her death. We don't know who killed her, but we all know who is celebrating her death. For saying this, I have been trolled and called names. I accept it, as it's all a part of the game," Prakash Raj said on Tuesday.
