Veteran actor and DMDK President Vijayakanth has been admitted in a private hospital  and he is apparently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital located in Porur, Chennai. 

The much loved Captain has been suffering various ailments over the past couple of years. He visited USA for treatment and stayed there for months before returning recently. 

While fans and party cadre of Vijayakanth were relieved that the Puratchi Kalaignar is fast and fully on the road to recovery, the news of his being admitted in the ICU. 

However the official statement from the DMKD party headquarters allays the fears and has put an end to rumors stating that Captain Vijayakanth is healthy and keeping well.
