Can you use Saridon? Supreme Court delivers order
- IndiaGlitz, [Monday,September 17 2018]
Recently, the Centre had banned the sale of Saridon and 327 other combination drugs in India. This is because, as per the government, these drugs have “no therapeutic justification for the ingredients contained in them. Besides, the government felt that these Fixed Dose Combinations may involve risk to human beings”.
After an appeal made after the ban, the Supreme Court has on Monday lifted the extant ban on the sale of Saridon and two other drugs. The order has been welcomed by those who find Saridon quite useful for headache. The ban was seen as bad news for both domestic and foreign pharma companies.
From the economic point of view, the 328 combination drugs have an estimated Rs 1,600 crore market in the country.
