Can Nani put behind his first OTT failure this time?

'Tuck Jagadish' is all set to stream on Amazon Prime from the night of Thursday (September 9). For the first time, for a direct Telugu release, the streaming giant is arranging a virtual meet-up of the film's cast and crew at 7 pm (Thursday), a program that will be streamed on Prime ahead of the OTT release.
The question on many a mind is this: Will Nani rise above the disastrous reception to 'V' in 2020? When the Mohankrishna Indraganti directorial hit Prime in the first wave of the pandemic, many expected the audience to go gaga over the experience of watching a crime thriller from the comfort of their homes. The reception turned out to be just a bit better than what Anushka Shetty-Madhavan's 'Nishabdham' would get later. 'V' was not only Nani's first OTT failure but also Tollywood's first major OTT flop.
It's not known whether 'V' can be deemed a success in terms of the viewing minutes it got. As far as the verdict went, it was a big dud. Unlike 'V', which had an outdated story and belonged to a genre that youngsters (mostly) prefer to watch, 'Tuck Jagadish' is a family drama. On Prime, it must get at least twice the views that 'V' got for two reasons: Its genre is universal, and the number of people relying on OTT platforms for entertainment has gone up since last year.
Directed by Shiva Nirvana, 'TJ' has Ritu Varma, Jagapathi Babu, Daniel Balaji, Nasser, Aishwarya Rajesh and others in different roles.
