Macho Star Gopichand has carved a niche for himself in the film industry with his high-octane and intense action entertainers. His films have often set the box office on fire, particularly in the powerful Nizam region, earning him the moniker of the Nizam King. However, despite early successes like "Saahasam" and "Loukyam," his career took a downturn with a string of flops.
With each new release, expectations soared, and fans along with movie lovers hoped for Gopichand's strong comeback to end his flop streak. Unfortunately, films like "Jil," "Soukhyam," "Goutham Nanda," "Oxygen," "Pantham," "Chanakya," "Seetimaar," "Aaradugula Bullet," "Pakka Commercial," and "Rama Banam" turned out to be bigger flops than their predecessors. As a result, his market value declined, and questions arose about his career's future.
Now, all eyes are on his upcoming action entertainer "Bhima," directed by A. Harsha, slated for release on March 8, 2024. The teaser and trailer have promised a mass action entertainer, with Gopichand portraying a powerful police officer. The film boasts a stellar cast, including Priya Bhavani Shankar, Malvika Sharma, Nassar, Naresh, Poorna, Vennela Kishore, Raghu Babu, Mukesh Tiwari, Chammak Chandra, Niharika Konidela, and Rohini.
A.Harsha, a star choreographer known for his hits in Sandalwood, has directed the film. "Bhima" is crucial for Gopichand as he aims to break his flop streak and revive his career. Previously, his films were in high demand in Hindi markets, but the situation has changed, with no buyers at the previous rates. Producers may fetch around Rs 5 to 6 crore per film if they promote them as unique action films.
Despite Gopichand's commendable physique and his ability to portray anger-driven roles with ease, he has struggled to balance action roles with light-hearted movies. It is suggested that he should focus on action adventures to regain his successful streak.
In addition to "Bhima," Gopichand is working on a film with director Srinu Vaitla, showcasing his comedic skills and featuring in an upcoming action entertainer. However, this project has faced budgetary issues due to high remunerations and production costs, posing a potential risk to its success.
