It has been two days since media reports started emerging that Kalyaan Dhev and Chiranjeevi's younger daughter Sreeja have parted ways. The drift in the couple's life is clear. On Thursday, Sreeja was found to have unfollowed Kalyaan on Instagram. This comes less than 48 hours after she dropped 'Kalyan' from her Insta handle.

Film observers are unsure what is up Kalyaan's sleeve now. He comes from a family of business people but has been spending his energies and time doing movies. After his married to Sreeja in 2016, he didn't take the cine plunge immediately. He was macho and was battle-ready. Yet, he waited out and debuted with a drama titled 'Vijetha' in 2018. It was produced by Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram, a production and distribution house associated with 'Eega' and 'Baahubali'. It's clear that Chiranjeevi's involvement was there. "With uncle (Chiranjeevi) liking the story, I had no second thoughts. He asked me to do the project immediately," Kalyaan said about 'Vijetha' at that time.
Afterward, Kalyaan didn't get to team up with any major production house. The fact that the pandemic slowed down things only made his journey all the more chequered. 'Super Machi' is from a fledgling producer.
'Kinnerasani', to be released soon, is one promising film Kalyaan can realistically hope will give an unexpected fillip to his career. Whether or not there is active backing from the Mega family, Kalyaan can hit the purple patch if he makes the right moves. It may be difficult but not impossible.
