After a string of failures, Dhanush is now pinning all his hopes on Balu Mahendra's Adhu Oru Kana Kalam.

The shooting for the movie is completed and Dhanush has begun to concentrate on his next Pudupettai.

The movie would be directed by his brother Selvaraghavan, who is on high now following the success of his Kadhal Kondein and 7G Rainbow Colony.

Interestingly Dhanush is not just playing the hero in the movie, He has joined Selvaraghavan as his assistant director.

According to reports Dhanush wants to learn the nuances of film-making.

When asked, Dhanush says, "it's my desire to know the difficulties involved in film-making which prompted me to take up the mantle of assistant director".

But the industry is giving a different twist to it all. Dhanush is always compared with Silambarasan. So with Silambarasan all set to make his directorial debut in his Vallavan later this year, industry hands say that this is Dhanush's attempt to get back at his archrival.

Let's see whether Dhanush overtakes him.
