Ampasayya, the acclaimed 1969 novel penned by Naveen, is being adapted into a movie. Directed by Prabhakar Jaini of Amma Neeku Vandanam and Pranaya Veedhullo fame, the story of this movie takes place with Osmania University as the backdrop. The title is Campus Ampasayya. The evergreen novel's onscreen adaptation will be watched out for by the discerning audience.
"The film has a soul. It has a lot of values. There are many emotional conflicts. We are planning to release the movie not just in Telugu, but also in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi,'" the makers say.
Shyam Kumar and Pavani are the lead pair. Prabhakar Jaini, Akella Raghavendra, Swathi Naidu, Mogilayya, Yogi Diwan, Valmiki, and Monika Thomson are playing important roles. Vijayalakshmi Jaini is the producer.
The makers are planning to release the film in June. Prabhakar Jaini says, "Ampasayya is the favourite novel of many. We have been making efforts to make this film for about three years. The output has come out really well. We have shot the film in Narsapur's forest area, Warangal's Ramappa temple and in Osmania University campus. The screenplay narrates the incidents that take place on a day in the life of a villager who has come to study in Osmania. We have re-created the 1970s climate authentically here. This will surely impress all sections of audiences."
Music is by Sandeep. Cinematography is by Ravikumar Neerla.
