Call Center Review

The present generation of youngsters, enchanted by the American dream tends to leave the culture & heritage of our country in the backyard. Made based on this new era of youngsters, accumulating Vamsi Krishna, Priyanka, Pooja, Vijayanand in the main cast is 'Call Centre'. The director of the feel good movie like 'Naavupiri' Kanmani has directed this flick. Katragadda Lokesh Dutt and Yarlagadda Venkata Rathna Kumar produced the film 'Call Centre' on Sri Sai Balaji Arts banner. The film is being released today on Sep 11th. The review

Story

Krishna (Vamsi Krishna) and Swathi (Priyanka) are two youngsters born in a village in a middle class family. Both of them, after completing their education, gets into a Call Centre job in Hyderabad with the help of a friend Srinivas (Vijayanand). Before leaving for   Hyderabad, Krishna promises his father that he will send money to eradicate the economical issues back home. Later Krishna and Swathi enters their new jobs in anticipation. They meet Pooja here, who is ahead in culture and outspoken. Knowing that Krishna is leaning towards the modernity of the city Swathi keeps herself aloof from him. The two youngsters Krishna & Swathi who had ventured into the city from a remote village and their adoption to the modern city are to be seen on screen. Will they be able to adjust to the western culture that prevails spun around them in this new lifestyle - forms the theme of the film.

Performance

Vamsi Krishna introduced as an actor in 'Happy Days', plays the main lead role. He had improvised his acting skills and enacted the part with the scope provided. Priyanka who played the role of Swathi, portrays the innocence of a village girl sporting a good performance. Pooja, the girl of west in a trendy look stages the mannerism and attitude of the young in the present. Her performance grabs attention yet doesn't make a strong impression.

Roommates of Krishna enacted by the actors- Malinga, and Babulu who bulllies Mukhesh Agrawal in the call centre, entertains the viewers with their wit. The motto of the movie is - Take a dip into the western culture but don't get addicted and lose your identity in the phase, by a character played by Kota Srinivasa Rao is notable.

Music composed by SaiKartheek is soothing to the ears by three finely tuned scores. Photography by Anji, Editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, Dialogues of Yelamanchi Sridhar are other distinct assets of the film.

Director's taking

Kanmani made his maiden venture with the film 'Naavupiri' as a director, later he directed a movie titled as 'Chinnodu' which fell flat at the Box Office. Next to it this film would be his third installment crafted on the subject that imitates the influence of western culture on Indian juvenility.

CONS

This is exclusively a youth film, and further limited to multiplex viewers. The actors are new faces which fails to register them in the mind of the audiences. Although the message is good, the story lacks to grip attention which creates a major void in the film.

Nutshell

The message says, 'one shouldn't leave our culture & heritage behind and mesmerized by the western culture. It makes an impact and notable asset. However, films of this genre will not be acclaimed well by B & C centre viewers. This film is limited only for the Multiplex viewers of the A centre. Call Centre may fail to bring the much required success for director Kanmani.
