Actor Mahesh holds a special place in Mollywood. For he is a rare actor who started as a child artist, later graduating as a hero and supporting actor and now into an independent director. His debut movie `Calendar' is all set to reach the theatres this month.
The movie scripted by Babu Janardhanan, tells the story of a special bonding between a widowed mother and her only daughter, who had much of their life together. The movie features yesteryear beauty Zarina Wahab, making a comeback to Malayalam as Thankam George, a college lecturer, widowed at a very younger age. Thereafter, she had lived all her life for her only daughter Kochu Rani, who was then, just three years old.
Thankom George takes special care of her child in every steps which gradually develops into a possessiveness, not allowing any others to come in between them. But everything changes as two young men comes into the life of Kochu Rani, who is enjoying her prime youth studying in degree college. Sojappan, a pleasant youth, with all his family settled at U S, makes an accidental entry into Kochu Rani's life while Roy Philip, a music lover who had been in U S is back to Kerala to find a new relation as per the compulsion of his mother. He had earlier married a foreigner whom he had divorced following their cultural differences, which unsettled their life.
The film follows to tell the uneven happenings in the life of the mother and the daughter as the two young men changes their life, into unexpected propositions. Navya Nair, after long time make a big comeback as heroine, through this movie. Prithviraj appears as Sojappan while Mukesh is Roy Philip. Others in the cast inclusdes, Jagathy Sreekumar, Manianpillai Raju, Suraaj Venjaramoodu, Sudheesh, Mallika Sukumaran, and Usha.
Produced by Saji Nanthiyattyu in the banner of Nanthiyaatu films, the movie is cinematographed by Vipin Mohaan. `Calendar' will also feature songs by Anil Panachooran. The movie is expected to be good feast for the family audiences, with apt amount of humour and family sentiments.
