With just six months plus for the declaration of Karnataka state Assembly Elections, Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah expanded his cabinet.

HM Revanna, RB Thimmapura and new MLA Geetha Mahadeva Prasad are inducted to the cabinet. The wearing in is taking place today at 5 pm at Raj Bhavan in the presence of Governor of Karnataka Vajubai Vala.

Among three – Geetha got elected in the recent by election to Gundulpet Assembly constituency after her husband a cooperative minister Mahadeva Prasad HS passed away. She is holding a ministerial position because of her husband image.

The inclusion of HM Revanna (also producer of Kannada film Lakshmana` starring his son Anoop) is sitting MLC and he gets the chance because HY Meti name got tucked in the sex scandal and he had to resign in last December.

The position of Home Minister G Parameshwar got vacated when he was chosen as KPCC President. This vacant position is now filled by RB Thimmapura.

What is interesting to know is that the Home Ministry position is vacant for a long time. Who is going to get it will be known in this cabinet reshuffle.
