'Drushyam 2', starring Venkatesh and Meena, is a sequel to 'Drushyam'. The thriller will start streaming on Amazon Prime from November 25. Its OTT release date was recently announced.

During the second wave, even before 'Narappa' hit OTT, it was reported that 'Drushyam 2' will be streaming on Hotstar as per a deal by the producers of the movie. Back then, media reports claimed that Hotstar had pocketed 'Drushyam 2' and 'Maestro' as part of its efforts to expand its Telugu subscriber base.

Why then is 'Drushyam 2' now with Prime? Allegedly, this is what Hotstar is asking producer D Suresh Babu. So far, there is no statement from Suresh Productions on this front. Neither has Hotstar made any official statement.

A report claims that the film was sold to Hotstar by Antony Perumbavoor, one of the producers of 'Drushyam 2', adding that Suresh Babu (another producer of the movie) had a different understanding with Prime. This sounds far-fetched, considering that Hotstar would have announced the release date of 'Drushyam 2', especially because the film completed its shoot and post-production works months ago.
