The controversy on social media following Allu Arjun's open refusal to speak on Pawan Kalyan on two occasions in recent times, needs no introduction. A rejoinder was expected to come from Bunny, who is at the centre of the controversy. And it came. Speaking at the audio release function of Oka Manasu, the Sarrainodu star said that he had been personally hurt by the way some fans have stooped to generate a "cheap" verbal duel on social media. "This is nothing but cheap. I am hurt. Personally, I would feel sad if Megastar garu is dragged unnecessarily," he said.
He laid the blame for his refusal to speak on Pawan at the doorsteps of certain groups of Pawanists. "If I refused to speak on Power Star, the blame should be taken by you, certain groups of fans. Not all fans, but only certain groups. Some groups are deliberately raising Pawan Kalyan's name at cinema functions. Shouting his name is welcome. Your celebration at functions is welcome. But the shouting shouldn't be so much that a speaker is not able to say what he wants to say. The speakers are not able to tell what they want to say. They would want to share their feelings on such platforms. It may be harsh, but please understand me. A director, who worked on his film for 100 days, couldn't speak about his work. A hero's acquaintance recently said to me, 'Maa function lo mee valla gola enti'," he further said.
Bunny said that Pawan himself had many times said that he was there in the industry because of Chiranjeevi. "Even when Chiranjeevi garu is talking, you interrupt by loudly shouting Pawan Kalyan garu's name. This is not correct. It's not to our liking, to put it frankly. No matter how much you shout, I won't talk about Pawan Kalyan garu. I have hundreds of times expressed my liking for him in speeches and movies."
Bunny further said that when he avoided talking about Pawan Kalyan to avoid a controversy, he least imagined that refusing to talk would lead to a controversy. "I have to be cautious at this point of time. It's because people might say I am acting pricey because I have three hits in a row to my credit. You hurt us a hundred times more than we could ever have hurt you. Keep your noise in control. I urge my fans and Pawan garu's fans to stop the comments on social media. Let bygones be bygones," he said.
