It was a rare occasion when Dil Raju celebrated the success of not one but six movies released in 2017: 'Shatamanam Bhavati', 'Nenu Local', 'DJ', 'Fidaa', 'Raja The Great' and 'MCA'. Most of the important cast and crew members of these movies were present at the event held on Monday evening.
Satish Vegesna, the director of 'SB', said, "Dil Raju garu has created history. I am glad that his journey this year began with our film. If we cinema industry were to be likened to horse racing, Raju garu is that atypical person who bets big on failed horses like me or new horses and scores a hit."
Veteran actress Jayasudha said, "I congratulate Raju garu on this rare achievement. My best films since I started playing character roles have been under this banner. I was in Puducherry's Auroville the other day. A North Indian youth came up to me and sought a selfie. He addressed me as Dr. Sailaja, my character from 'Yevadu'. What more can an actor ask for?"
Anupama Parameswaran said, "It's like unbelievable. It has been a year since 'SB' hit the screens. But it feels like yesterday. I feel I have achieved something in life by doing this film."
Sekhar Kammula said, "I would like to thank Dil Raju garu. Some films happen like magic. 'Fidaa' is an example. I thank Raju garu and my actors and technicians for making it possible. Production is no easy job and Raju garu is on a roll. I hope he will do one hundred films!"
Varun Tej said, "Some people are saying that Raju garu is scoring hits because of luck factor. Having known him for the past few years, I can say that he makes films intelligently, getting the right cast and crew in place. I hope he will continue to do this."
Anil Ravipudi said, "Out of the 27 films that SVC has made, more than 90 percent of them are successful. My journey with this banner started only last year, with 'Supreme'. Raju garu has made great films this year by swallowing a personal tragedy."
Mehreen, who has done 'Raja The Great' under the banner, said, "My heartiest congratulations to SVC. I thank them for giving me a chance to be a part of their family this year. Nani started my career and he has closed 2017 for SVC with a big hit."
Venu Sriram, the director of 'MCA', said, "My journey with Raju garu started from the days of 'Arya', for which I was an asst director. I know about him more than anyone here. He sets goals for himself and exceeds them! I know how much he has worked hard to deliver six hits this year. Raju garu, Laxman garu and Sirish garu have been all-weather friends. Raju garu kept warning me against delivering a flop after five hits in a row (in 2017). Last punch manadi aithe aa kick eh veru! I thank Nani garu, DSP sir, Sameer Reddy garu, Sai Pallavi and Bhumika mam for strengthening 'MCA'."
Bhumika said, "I want to congratulate Raju garu for all the successful films this year. It was a dream-come-true to work under SVC. By the time I completed doing 'MCA', I was part of this family. Special thanks to Nani. Working with him is a joy. He is a wonderful human being to be with. I told him once that he will remain humble for ever."
Devi Sri Prasad said, "I am happy that Kodi Ramakrishna uncle, who introduced me as a music director, is here. I was a school-goer then! I will always be thankful to him and MS Raju garu. Dil Raju garu is a middle-class abbayi, but he is an every-class producer. Cinema is not restricted to any particular class. Be it the rich man or the poor man, he has the same film to watch.
Cinema unites people and hearts. At a time when it's very difficult to make one film, Raju garu has successfully made six hits in one year. Since my father was a writer, I have extra love for writers. Without them, there can be no good film. The story is the inspiration for everything. I had a hat-trick this year under SVC. I never expected that I would work on two blockbusters of Nani in just one year. I like his nuanced acting a lot.
Nani said, "Raju garu, Sirish garu and Laxman garu are the iconic producers of Telugu cinema. I have always loved cricket since childhood. But I could never get to bat because I used to be the last man. Given this, I am glad that I got to play two balls in one over (referring to the six films of Raju this year). Raju garu is a producer with great passion and excitement.
Even to this day, when a song is ready, he goes to his technicians and heroes to give them a listening of the song. He likes to notice the expressions on their faces. This kind of passion I have seen only in Bollywood's Aditya Chopra while working on a film. Since I am now producing a movie ('AWE'), I know well how difficult it is to produce films."
Allu Arjun said, "The one name we constantly see in the credits of all of Dil Raju garu's movies is this: 'Smt. Anitha Presents'. We know how much Raju garu loves his wife. When he lost his wife this year, it was the biggest personal hit for him. Losing one's spouse is the biggest hit that anybody can take in their life. I have seen a number of examples where the spouse is totally down once he/she loses his partner. Pain and loss can't be denied in such a situation. But how we react to the situation is our choice.
Dil Raju garu has shown it. He completely deserves this kind of success this year. He got these hits when he needed them the most. I have seen many shades of him over the years. But how he has behaved when he was hit badly deserves my highest respect. As I was leaving to attend this event, my wife asked me where I was going. I was searching for the right description of this event.
It's because it's a unique function that is meant to celebrate the success of six films. No producer has been able to do it. I am glad that I got to do 'Duvvada Jagannadham', the banner's landmark, 25th film."
