Bullet (Malayalam)
Director Nizar had always been a name associated with brisk film making, that too in unbelievably low budgets. In the late nineties he even directed half a dozen movies every year converting most of them into profits even in a three week run. After a surprising gap for such a veteran technician, Nizar is back to Mollywood this time with an investigative thriller. The talented director is teaming up with Suresh Gopi for the first time for his comeback movie titled `Bullet', which will hit the theaters for this Onam. While this regular star in police uniform is donning a daringly different role in `Bullet'. Kalabhavan Mani will appear in a role of equal importance as an investigative officer.
The movie has a plot told in the backdrop of a popular reality show on television. Gangaprasad and Yamuna Prasad are musician duo who arrives as the judges of the show. As the musical reality show gains popularity day after day, pressures mounts up on the judges from various corners, to name their wards as the winner. But one day everyone in the shooting crew is stunned to find Gangaprasad missing. The allied investigations lead to clues that Ganga Prasad is killed but the associated officers cannot trace out the body of the victim and hence cannot confirm on the murder committed.
Suresh Gopi appear in an altogether different role of a Sanyasi in the movie - Kallambilli Manakkal Parasurama, Bhattathiry., popularly called as 'Pattery' by his disciples. He moves around in `Bullet', have peculiar maneuvers and wears colorful attires including saffron's in the movie, Pattery is a man gifted with extra sensory perceptions - a man who can read faces and palms, and predict future. But Pattery is presently in trouble as he in labeled as the prime suspect by Wahid Abdul Rahman, the only hajji in the police force. But in no time, Pattery with his influences in government circles, free himself from the police. This leads to a further showdown with the C I Wahid, but Pattery soon makes up his mind to probe into the case through his own peculiar ways.
As the plot thickens both Wahid and Pattery works on their own different ways to seize the ultimate killer and how they find clues into the dreaded murder forms the plot of the movie written by Nazeem Vellilla.
Tamil actor Ravishankar debuts into Malayalam playing Karthick - an important character in the movie. Pavithra and Udhayathara are the heroines of this movie which also have Jagathy Sreekumar, Devan, Innocent, Rajan P Dev, Saikumar, Kottayam Nazeer, Ponnamma Babu, Usha and Babylona in its cast lines.
The songs of the movie are written by Kaithapram and P Prakash, and are set to tunes by Kaithapram Viswanath. Anil Gopinath is the cinematographer while G Murali does the editing. Produced by Nasim Vellila in the banner of Malayil Movie Makers, the movie was shot at Palakkad and Kochi.
`Bullet' will be brought to theatres by Adarsh Release as an Onam release.
