Plastic surgeries and fat removal surgeries can be fatal if not done well. A case of a cosmetic fat removal surgery becoming life-perishing has occurred in Bengaluru.

An upcoming Kannada TV actress named Chetana Raj passed away earlier this week when she opted for plastic surgery to reduce her body fat. The 21-year-old small screen star was admitted on Monday to a private hospital in Bengaluru. As per the reports, the fluid that accumulated in her lungs cost her life.

Chetana Raj's family blamed the negligence of the doctors who had done the plastic surgery that caused her death. The actress underwent surgery at Shetty's Cosmetic Centre in Bangalore but the procedure did not go as planned. She was rushed to Kaade Hospital at 5.30 pm. The state's police are investigating this case now.

The doctors of the Kaade Hospital stated that the doctors, who performed the plastic surgery, brought Chethana and threatened them to treat her as a person who had suffered a cardiac arrest. ICU intensivist Dr Sandeep, in his complaint to the inspector of Basaveshwaranagar Police Station, had mentioned that the doctors at Shetty's Cosmetic Centre were aware that Chethana had already lost her life.

At the time of writing, a medical report is awaited. Any arrests will be made only on the basis of what the report says. As of now, the clinic has been sealed.

The piece of news goes to show that it is not reasonable to trust all cosmetologists/dermatologists just like that. The victim in the above case had mortgaged family jewellery to get the procedure done. One must value both money and one's health before surrendering to quacks!
