Dead man walking. That could well be the state that LK [Anupam Kher] suffers (or shall we say, enjoy?) in BUDDHA MAR GAYA.

As India's premier industrialist, he rose from being a humble scrap seller over the years. Hence the name LK, which is short and sweet for 'Laxmikant Kabadiya'.

Now a construction mogul, he had all the riches and luxuries of his life. He had everything that he ever wanted - wealth, name, fame and babes. The only factor which was going against him? Age!

And it was this age factor that said goodbye to him in one of the most beautiful (and entertaining) moments of his life! A romp on the bed with a struggling starlet [Rakhi Sawant] proved to be too much for him as he died in the middle of the act.

But guess what, he died as a happy man. And the smile on his dead face pretty much reflected the sheer happiness he enjoyed moments before he left his body behind.

Well, apart from his dead body, he also left quite a few other things behind. Apart from an entire empire, he also left behind his spinster twin sister Prerna, two sons Ranjeet and Sameer, their wives Shruti and Anju, Ranjeet daughters Sanjana and Namrata, and Sameer's son, Pawan. And all they wanted was their own pie of his immense wealth.

But there was an issue!

A Rs. 5000 crore worth IPO was up for the grabs but for that one basic fact had to be hidden from the world.

The fact that LK was dead.
The fact which could prove to be undoing of LK's empire.
The fact that would have put Rs. 5000 crore worth IPO in limbo.

What would the family do? They turn over to their family Guru Vidyut Baba [Om Puri] for advice. An advice he does give, though it comes with it's own difficulties and expected trouble.

To the world LK had to be projected as someone who was still kicking and alive. And this drama had to be enacted for the next 2 days till the shares are out. But then, would it be an easy task to accomplish?

LK was a celebrity who met dozens of people a day. He was a man whose signatures were required on important documents every hour. He was someone who was a public figure and had to be present at number of places at the same time.

How could someone like LK be kept away from the public and media gaze?

But greed presided over all trouble and the family sets itself out on achieving the impossible. A roller coaster ride ensues and everyone from an inquisitive and greedy servant, the Prime Minister's fixer, a procurer of dead bodies, the paparazzi to a couple of cops who get themselves involved in this 'tamasha'!

All in order to let the world 'not' know that 'buddha mar gaya'!

Directed by Rahul Rawail who also co-produces the film with Sunil Lulla, the film also stars Paresh Rawal, Mahabanoo Mody-Kotwal, Ranvir Shorey, Mukesh Tiwari, Murli Sharma and Mona Ambegaonkar along with Mannat Kaur, Madhvi Singh, Heenaa Biswas, Jay Soni, Deepika Sharma, Jitender Bhargava and Bobby Parvez.

The film is releasing all over on 17th August.
