Roshan Kanakala, the son of Suma Kanakala and Rajeev Kanakala, steps into the world of cinema with his debut in the youthful entertainer, Bubblegum. The film's infusion of youthful elements and romantic content has piqued the curiosity of movie enthusiasts. Now, let's delve into how Bubblegum captivated and entertained the audience.

Story:

Aadi, known as Aditya (Roshan Kanakala), embraces a carefree and joyous existence, earning his livelihood as a DJ. His world takes a captivating turn when he becomes enamored by the rich and stunning Janu, also known as Janhvi (Maanasa Chaudhary), who holds distinct perspectives. Just as their relationship is poised to strengthen, unforeseen developments disrupt their trajectory.

The unfolding events pose challenges for Aadi and Janu, influencing the dynamics of their connection. Meanwhile, the reactions of their parents( Chaitu Jonnalagadda, Bindu Chandramouli, Harshavardhan, and Anu Hasan), become pivotal in shaping the course of subsequent developments. Discovering the nature of these unforeseen twists and turns and understanding their impact on Aadi and Janu's relationship sets the stage for an intriguing narrative.

Analysis:

Roshan Kanakala made a striking debut with a spirited performance that showcased his versatility in expressions and emotions, adapting seamlessly to the diverse situations his character encountered. From portraying the body language of a humble youngster captivated by a beautiful girl to embodying the confident persona of a DJ in a pub, Roshan demonstrated commendable skill. His portrayal of a caring son and the subsequent transformation after pivotal developments in the storyline exhibited his depth as an actor. While his dialogue delivery was commendable, a bit of refinement in his skills could undoubtedly propel him further in the right direction.

Maanasa Choudhary, visually captivating on screen, delivered entertainment with fervor, treating the audience to a feast of intense liplocks, intimate scenes, and bikini appearances in songs and selected scenes. Despite occasional moments where she seemed subdued, Maanasa left an enduring impression.

Viva Harsha, with limited screen time, and Brahmanandam, in his brief appearance, brought moments of delight to the audience, leaving fans both thrilled and somewhat disappointed by the brevity of their roles. Anu Haasan and Harshavardhan delivered convincing performances as the heroine's parents, while Bindu Chandramouli and Chaitu Jonnalagadda portrayed their roles effectively as the hero's parents. Chaitu Jonnalagadda, in particular, added a touch of humor with his performance, eliciting a few laughs.

Ravikanth Perepu crafted a romantic entertainer to introduce Roshan Kanakala, incorporating youthful and bold scenes to resonate with contemporary sensibilities. While the storyline followed a familiar trajectory of a poor guy falling for a rich girl, the narrative took a drastic turn at the interval, paving the way for an intense second half. Perepu's attempt to sustain intensity through liplocks and smooches, despite the routine elements, was evident. The emotional depth in the second half, featuring impactful scenes between Roshan and Chaitu Jonnalagadda, as well as Roshan and Bindu Chandramouli, added layers to the storytelling. Similarly, scenes between Maanasa and Harshavardhan, and Maanasa and Anu Hasan, highlighted the bonds within the film's familial dynamics. However, the ending, despite compelling efforts and impactful dialogues, somewhat diluted the overall intensity.

Nishad Yousuf's editing, while adequate, could have benefited from the elimination of a few repetitive scenes. Suresh Ragutu's cinematography beautifully captured the natural and realistic portrayal of rural and lower middle-class family life. The scenic visuals of Goa were portrayed in a captivating manner, contributing to the film's aesthetic appeal. Sricharan Pakala's music entertained the youth, with youthful and well-picturized songs that emphasized the romance and chemistry between the lead pair. The background score, though generally fitting, occasionally veered into loud territory. The production values were commendable, contributing to the overall quality of the film.

Verdict:

Roshan Kanakala brought a refreshing and youthful energy to the screen in the bold entertainer "Bubblegum." While Ravikanth Perepu successfully weaved a compelling screenplay, there was potential to elevate the film beyond predictability and routine by incorporating a few more intriguing elements. Although Perepu's direction is commendable, the script could have benefited from some refinement, injecting an extra dose of excitement into the overall experience of "Bubblegum." A bit of fine-tuning could have added that extra zing to the narrative.
