The BTech team is back with yet another flick! Titled 'Thattum Vellattom', the movie will feature Asif Ali, Soubin Shahir, Saiju Kurup, Lal Jr, Balu Varghese, and Ganapathi in the lead roles.

Set in north Malabar, the film will deal with Kerala's popular art form 'theyyam'. Talking in-depth about the title, director Mridul said, "Thattum Vellattam is a special, very ferocious kind of theyyam, and there exists a myth that anyone who gets the first hit from the performer during the performance wouldn’t live to see the next performance. But there have also been instances where no one died.”

He further added that the movie will be incorporated with elements of Kannur politics as well as the myths and superstition revolving around theyyam. It may be remembered that the last theyyam-based commercial film was Kaliyattam, which starred Suresh Gopi and Manju Warrier in the lead roles.

The pre-production work of the film has already begun. It is reported that the will have two female leads. Casting is on full swing. An official announcement on the cast and crew is expected in the coming days. Filming is expected to start in mid-2020.
