Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa today called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in New Delhi. This came after a few media houses claimed that the CM had resigned. But the Kannada BJPian immediately trashed them.
After meeting with Shah, BSY said that he has been asked by the Home Minister to work hard to come back to power in Karnataka, where elections are due in 2023.
BSY added, "The HM told me that the BJP must win more seats in Lok Sabha elections (which are due in 2024)."
Shah is said to have exuded confidence that the saffron party has a bright future in Uttar Pradesh, too. In a message to his detractors, BSY asserted that he is not going to step back.
Earlier in the day, BSY said that he will also be interacting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP President JP Nadda as well. Discussions over a water irrigation project were also on. The President of the ruling party has also ruled out any leadership change in Karnataka.
