Actress Demi Moore recently faced a heartbreaking moment during her visit to ex-husband Bruce Willis. Willis, the star of iconic movies since "Die Hard," is reportedly battling severe frontotemporal dementia and has been unable to recognize Moore, his children's mother for Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah. However, sources close to the situation say that he still makes mention of his current wife, Emma Heming Willis, and sometimes recognizes their kids.

During her visit after getting back from a trip to Italy, one thing that struck Moore was the fact that Willis doesn't recognize her as his former wife. There are instances when he would appear happy during Rumer's visits with her new baby.

Reports allege that while Bruce still has moments of recognition, he is facing difficulty in them, presenting aggressive behaviour and deteriorating his physical health. Heming Willis shared in an interview that dealing with dementia is hard and affects the diagnosed person as well as the family. She stated the difficulty in gauging Willis's awareness of his condition.

Bruce made his retirement announcement after dealing with the onset of aphasia, both in speech and cognition. This was in March 2022. The evident struggles with memory and line recall were apparent when working on various film sets prior to this diagnosis. Moore, though in contact with the Willis family, was oblivious to the fact that Will's memory and cognitive ability were deteriorating to the point of being pulled by frontotemporal dementia, a condition that leads to dramatic personality changes and severe problems in both thinking and behaviour.

Family members' recent statements shed light on the health issues that clearly indicated his departure from his beloved acting career. Many close friends and associates of Willis too shared their thoughts over his continuous fight against the disease, emphasizing his former vivacity and his unchanged core identity even as he has been reduced to his present condition.
