Brittania signs MoU to invest 550 crores in Tamil Nadu!

In a major boost for the economy of Tamil Nadu and development of industries, the famous biscuit manufacturing company Britannia Industries has said that it is investing Rs 550 crore in Tamil Nadu following the food company’s positive performance during the two quarters amidst the pandemic situation in the state.
Brittania, which is the name behind some of the popular biscuits such as Good Day and Tiger biscuits has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu Government in the presence of the Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, announcing the increase of investment in the state from Rs 300 crore to Rs 550 crore which will span a period of seven years.
According to this enhanced investment plan, Britannia estimates to generate a total of 1000 direct and indirect employment opportunities in Tamil Nadu. The company has made a proposal for a plant with a land requirement of 85 acres for manufacturing the company's products.
