Britney Spears recently expressed her feelings about her father, Jamie Spears, and the current legal situation.
In a now-deleted social media photo, Britney Spears admitted to trying acupuncture to help with the nerve damage in her back. This came just days after she resolved her long-running conservatorship case, in which her father controlled her financial and personal affairs for 13 years.
Despite the conservatorship ending on Nov. 12, 2021, a confidential settlement regarding the details of the case only recently resolved the long-standing dispute over Jamie's legal fees.
In an expression of her frustration, Spears took to Instagram and said, "My family hurt me!!! "There has been no justice, and probably never will be!" She lamented further about the inaction of some of the family members during challenging times.
The 42-year-old songbird insinuated a less-than-idyllic relationship with her parents by revealing that she has not really spoken to them in person because she is way too concerned about her safety. She did lament that she felt robbed of a part of herself because she was unable to go back and get in touch with her roots in Louisiana.
Her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, emphasized that Spears had triumphed in reclaiming her autonomy and fundamental rights, following the recent settlement of a legal battle with her father.
As she continues to fight in court, Spears is also fighting other battles of her own, such as her imminent divorce from her estranged husband, Sam Asghari. Even though odds may be against her, it appears that the great side of her new-found freedom is what Spears is focusing on, and she will look ahead with positive sentiments.
