Brimming with Conviction

With the release of the highly anticipated thriller 'Maharathi' featuring acting gurus like Naseerudin Shah, Om Puri, Paresh Rawal and the ever so engaging and versatile Boman Irani, life in the world of movies will come a full circle for the glamorous Neha Dhupia.

The reason is that being considered for an important role in a movie like 'Maharathi' is equal to getting any great award as the director has to be quite sure and confident that the actress is talented enough to deliver fine acting face to face with the veteran actors who are considered as pillars of Bollywood.

Indeed Neha has traveled a long way from the time she was cast aside as just a former beauty queen who will not last long in the tough world of Bollywood and will pack her bags after doing some roles that are normally considered as decorative pieces to add visual appeal and glamour to the movies.

By her will power Neha has now successfully made a comfortable place to survive and is also considered as a decent performer who can be relied upon.

Neha can be proud that she has been able to get a tag of a good actress as well as one suited for hi glamour roles and she did not get stereotyped although she was once standing on the edge.

Her bold attitude in doing roles in her initial films like 'Julie' and 'Sheesha' made the media to label her as the lady who like to flaunt her skin too much.

Over the years, she showed the patience in getting the right roles and finally the role of a working woman for the film titled 'Delhi Heights' came looking for her.

Neha made the beginning which she was waiting for and then even though 'Delhi Heights' was not able to create much impact at the box office, she was appreciated.

She got ample opportunities to showcase her versatility with meaty roles in films like 'Chup Chup Ke', then in the experimental 'Dus Kahaaniyan', then in 'Mithya' and more recently in 'Dasvidaniya' with Vinay Pathak.

In the middle she got an action oriented role in the blockbuster 'Singh Is King' too.

Neha says Being part of simple and beautiful films and working with great actors has given me more than money ever could and I am very happy with the kind of cinema that I am doing. I am getting good scripts.

Lets see if a new chapter in Neha's career gets started after the release of 'Maharathi'.
