Jaganmohan Reddy, the chief of the YSR Congress Party and wannabe CM of AP, was on Thursday attacked at the Visakhapatnam Airport by a man working at the airport. He has been identified as Srinivas and is currently in police detention.
Speaking on the attack, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu said that the attack happened in an airport, where the law and order is the Centre's responsibility. "If the incident took place outside the airport, then it would have been the responsibility of the state govt. But airport comes under the central govt. Then who is responsible?" the CM said.
"The injured person immediately left for Hyderabad. How can investigation be done in the neighbouring state? The attacker had written a letter against the state govt, he had erected flexes as a fan (of Jagan). How should this be understood?" Naidu said, insinuating that it was a sympathy 'murder attempt'.
