The Chief Ministers of all States have on Saturday urged Narendra Modi to extend the ongoing lockdown for two weeks. Since there is a consensus on extension, the Prime Minister is in favour of doing it.
As per some reports, the Centre will announce the demarcation of the country into three zones: Red, Green and Yellow. These will be done on the basis of the spread of COVID-19 in different districts. More than 300 districts in India have not registered even a single case. There is likely to be very limited lockdown in them. There will be movement within the districts. Cities like Mumbai and Hyderabad will be in red zone, probably.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal revealed a while ago that the PM has already decided to extend the lockdown. "Today, India’s position is better than in many developed countries because we started lockdown early. If it is stopped now, all gains would be lost. To consolidate, it is imp to extend it," the AAP chief said.
Modi is in favour of the continuation of farm activity. He will also draw up guidelines for the construction industry in a graded manner.
