Star director AR Murugadoss has on Thursday approached the Madras High Court seeking police protection from the Tamil Nadu film distributors of his recent movie 'Darbar'.
As per some distributors, the Rajinikanth-starrer threw up losses. As a result, they have suffered financial losses to the tune of crores.
As per Murugadoss, who is the director of 'Darbar', he has been pestered and intimidated by about 25 unidentified men to compensate for the losses suffered by the distributors. On February 3, as claimed by Murugadoss, these men landed at his Chennai office and tried to create a "fear psychosis" among his staff members. Later in the day, about 15 men appeared in front of his residence and started "hurling abuses" at Murugadoss.
Following this, the director approached the Chennai Police Commissioner for help. With the police not responding, he today petitioned the High Court, seeking police protection.
'Darbar' released on January 9 in Tamil and Telugu in a big way.
