Brangelina/ Abhiwarya: Hollywood se Bollywood tak

  • IndiaGlitz, [Tuesday,January 16 2007]

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s couple status was condensed into ‘Brangelina’ by the space miser press. Somehow it sounded catchy as well when you come across a front page headline: ‘Brangelina cause a stampede….’ If winter comes can spring be far behind. In other words, if Hollywood can invent a terminology for their famous couple then, can Bollywood be far behind. Out pops ‘Abhiwarya’. Now, do you need clarity as to who two names have been combined here? Obviously not!

In other words we persist in showing off that we like being slaves to the so called ‘better civilisation’. If Hollywood can be corrupted into Bollywood, Tollywood and Kollywood, then why can’t Brangelina give way to Abhiwarya? The press (both print, internet as well as television) is going bizarre giving excessive space-n-coverage to the Abhishek Aishwarya engagement, day before yesterday. If you can have your Princess Diana, then we have Aishwarya, India’s face in the West…That seems to be the proud answer…

Well, for now gear up for more and more dope on Abhiwarya (as if we have any choice). From who is designing clothes for them, to Rs 2 lakh lehenga for Aishwarya, the marriage date speculation, the weird astrology predictions by any and every Jyotshi worth his salt and why the marriage should be solemnized before Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday this year. You can’t escape Abhiwarya….Whether you like it or not….
