In a conversation with Oprah Winfrey for an installment of her ‘Supersoul Conversations’ series, actor and director Bradley Cooper admitted that he felt embarrassed on not scoring an Oscar nomination under the Best Director category for his movie ‘A Star Is Born.’
When asked about the snub at the event on Tuesday, the actor said, “I was with my friend at a coffee shop in New York City, and I looked down at my phone and Nicole (his publicist) had texted me congratulations on these other nominations, but didn’t tell me the bad news. And I went, ‘Oh, wow.’ And the first thing I felt was embarrassment, actually… I felt embarrassed that I didn’t do my part.” However, he added that in the end, it was about making something you believed in and working hard on it.
Despite missing the nomination under the Directors’ category, Bradley Cooper scored three Oscar nominations for ‘A Star Is Born,’ including Best Actor, Best Picture, and Best Adapted Screenplay alongside Eric Roth and Will Fetters.
