#BoycottRadhikaApte has been trending on Twitter since Friday morning. It all began when some Netizens pulled out stills of the 'Andhadhun' actor from her film 'Parched', in which she played the role of a sex worker. She went nude in the film as the role demanded her to do a bedroom scene. The 'Pad Man' actress also did a lovemaking scene each with Adil Hussain and Tannishtha Chatterjee.
Years after 'Parched' was out, several Twitter users are reminding everyone of Radhika Apte's acting choices. She has been accused of doing things that are against the "Bharatiya traditions".
Yogi Devnath, who has got 1.3 million followers on Twitter, wrote that protecting "our culture is the need of the hour". He used the #BoycottRadhikaApte hashtag. "We will not tolerate anything that goes against our culture," he thundered in another tweet.
Several Netizens claimed that Bollywood is against the Indian culture because of the ideology of its filmmakers and actors. Many went to the extent of suggesting that the Hindi film industry insults the Hindu culture because it is funded by Dawood Ibrahim.
On the other hand, supporters of the 'Legend' actress noted that those who are shaming her should remember that India has produced Kama Sutra and architecture that depicts erotica.
