Actor Dileep's Ramaleela arrived at Kerala box office on September 28, 2017, amidst calls for the boycott. The movie which was released in 131 screens across Kerala and 193 screens across India is continuing to have a dream at the box-office with good occupancies in almost all centres. Reportedly, the movie has garnered Rs 4.61 crore in the first two days after cinegoers and fans flooded the theatres. The political thriller directed by debutant Arun Gopy made a grand opening at the Kerala box office by crossing the 2-Crore mark on its release day, thus the becoming one of the biggest openers in Dileep's acting career spanning 25 years!

Just within the first weekend, Ramaleela is said to have crossed the prestigious 6-Crore mark at the Kerala box office. Reportedly, Ramaleela has also been performing extremely well at the outside Kerala releasing centres. Though the official figures are yet to be revealed, Ramaleela looks like the biggest opening weekend ever for a Dileep film. The movie has given a tight competition to Manju Warrier's family entertainer Udaharanam Sujatha.

Ramaleela is a political thriller produced by Tommichan Mulakupadam featuring Dileep in the role of a non-practicing lawyer, a common man who one day becomes an MLA named, Ramanunni. Set in the backdrop of political affairs, 'Ramaleela' has Prayaga Martin in the female lead along with Raadhika Sarathkumar playing the role of Dileep's mother.
