Earlier today Supreme Court Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose had convicted V.K.Sasikala and other two accused in the Disproportionate Assets case.

Now it is learnt that the other judge of the two judge bench Amitava Roy has also concurred with justice Ghose's verdict convicting Sasikala, Ilavarasi and Sudhakaran.

The judges have upheld the four year prison sentence delivered by Bengalur Special Court Judge Michael D'Cunha and called the acquittal by the High Court Judge Kumarasamy as a wrong judgement.

This means Sasikala and the other two will have to serve four years of imprisonment. They have been asked to immediately appear before the Bangalore Special Court.

The dreams of Sasikala becoming CM have been shattered by this verdict. According to law, a person convicted of imprisonment for more than 2 years cannot contest in any election for ten years. This means Sasikala cannot contest in any election until 2027.
