Bosskey needs no introduction to Tamil people. He is one of the popular movie reviewers, humorist, cricket analyst, and Television anchors who commands a huge following among youngsters.Especially his movie review show 'Kashayam With Bosskey' for the IndiaGlitz gets tremendous viewership. Bosskey is also a cricket expert as an analyst as well as player of the spoert. We can say that he is one of those who popularised Tamil commentary for cricket in this satellite era.
It is a great news for the Tamil speaking cricket enthusiasts and that Bosskey will be making Tamil commentary for the finals match of ICC Women's Cricket World Cup tournament to be played by India and England in Lords cricket Stadium, London for the Star Sports Tamil channel. The match will be telecast in the channel from 2:30 PM to 11 PM tomorrow (July 23, 2017).
Speaking to IndiaGlitz, Bosskey says he will be commentating for Women's cricket for the first time ever and his commentary will be laced with humour and a lot of witty comments. Elaborating on his plan for this historical match, the multi-talented celebrity says, "It is in the same Lords we (India) have won in 1983 under Kapil Dev's captaincy. now we have again come to finals and will be facing England, the host as opponents. I will do my best to make people start watching cricket regardless of their acquaintance with the sport. I will bring a lot of cinema references in my commentary to make things easy and enjoyable for the common man. I always add humour and cinema references in my cricket shows to attract Tamil audience and ladies."
Earlier Bosskey has done commentary for a India-Sri Lanka match for a Tamil satellite channel and has been a Tamil commentator for ESPN Tamil channel since 2007. He has also done at least five analysis shows during ICC World Cups and IPL tournaments for top channels.
Bosskey's association with cricket starts from his middle school days. He was a terrific leg spinner who proved to be a nightmare to batsmen. In late 70s and early 80s He was part of many tournaments representing St.Bede's school and then the Loyola college. He has played under the captaincy of Krishamachari Srikanth for a University level tournament. He played for the South Zone team along with Mohammed Azharuddin and took the wicket of Ravi Shasthri who played for West zone in that tournament. He has been praised by cricketing legends such as Srikanth, Sasthri and many others who have represented the Indian team at international tournaments.
As fate would have it, Bosskey could not achieve the dream of representing the Indian team in international matches as he lost his flight and arc as a leg spinner, all of a sudden. But his keen interest and deep knowledge about the sport added with his phenomenal sense of humour ensured that he will go on to become a remarkable commentator and stay associated with India's much loved sport forever.
