The GHMC elections may well throw up surprising results this December 4. If bookies are to be believed, the ruling TRS may have only a slight edge over the BJP. Although KT Rama Rao has said that TRS sees MIM as its principal opponent, the voter seems to think otherwise.
As per a report by Deccan Chronicle, bookies are giving a hairline edge to TRS. "At 87 paisa to Re 1 for the pink party and 96 paisa for the BJP," the report adds.
The report also informs that, among bookies, there are no takers for either MIM or the Congress. This could mean that the BJP has successfully and conclusively replaced Congress as the principal opposition party in Telangana.
Even several BJP supporters believe that the saffron party may not win more than 35 seats or so. But if it were to win 50 seats, the political discourse will have changed decisively in the State.
