Producer Boney Kapoor lately answered actor Arshad Warsi's allegation that he was underpaid for choreographing a song in the 1993 film "Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja". Arshad claimed he was offered ₹1 lakh but got ₹75,000 instead after completing the dance in three days rather than four. Boney Kapoor thought the remark shocking in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, saying, "I laughed when reading his statement. The shot took place in 1992; he is bringing this up now. Arshad wasn't a standout at that time. Who would have paid him that kind of a large sum?
Boney clarified that Pankaj Parashar, who finished the shoot in three days instead of the scheduled four, directed the song. Arshad was paid ₹25,000 daily, or ₹75,000 for three days of work, he also said. "It was not like we had promised him more. I hardly recall this occurrence," Kapoor said, implying that Arshad's remarks might be an effort at media attention.
Director Pankaj Parashar also stepped in, saying he oversaw the shot and that Arshad, a recent hire choreographer, lacked control over the production. Arshad had earlier voiced his annoyance, saying he wasn't paid adequately even though he had wrapped up early to save production costs. Filmed by Boney Kapoor, “Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja” stars Anil Kapoor and Sridevi.
