On Monday, producer Bony Kapoor acquired the Hindi remake rights of Malayalam superstar Mammootty's 2021 hit film One. Reportedly, the Hindi remake of One will see a big Bollywood star in the lead role. It is rumoured that Anil Kapoor will be playing the role of Kadakkal Chandran, Kerala Chief Minister, which was played by Mammootty in the original. The project is likely to go on floors in the first quarter of 2022. More details regarding the project are awaited.
Mammootty-starrer One was released in theatres on March 26 was later streamed on Netflix. The political drama directed by Santhosh Viswanath had a decent run at the box office. Scripted by Bobby-Sanjay and produced by Sreelakshmi R under the banner of Ichais Productions, the movie has a huge supporting cast including Joju George, Nimisha Sajayan, Binu Pappu, Murali Gopy, Ranjith, Sudev Nair, Suresh Krishna, Salim Kumar, Shanker Ramakrishnan, Alencier Ley Lopez, Mamukoya, P Balachandran, Mathew Thomas, Prem Kumar, Krishna Kumar, and Ishaani Krishna.
