In one of the biggest bomb blasts across the world in recent times, a series of blasts took place on Sunday morning in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo. The blasts went off in three churches and a few high-class hotels.
Initial reports suggest that at least 55 people have died in the blasts. At least 300 victims have been admitted to various hospitals by rescue teams. Devout Christians are celebrating Easter across the world. The Church attacks targeted precisely the Christian devotees.
The blasts have shaken Sri Lanka. "At least 26 dead bodies are inside Kochchikade Church. We are shocked. The Prime Minister is chairing an emergency meeting," a Minister was quoted as saying.
