Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn took time out of his busy work schedule to visit Kerala's Sabarimala temple. After reaching Nilakkal from Kochi in a helicopter by 9 am, the actor climbed the Pathinettam Padi at 11 am on Wednesday. The actor-director had also sought blessings of tanthri and melsanthi (chief priest) of the temple and offered prayers at Malikappuram and other deities near the temple before making the return journey. Later in the day, he also shared a video of himself dressed in black. His caption read, “Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa.”
To visit the temple, Ajay is said to have strictly followed month-long rituals that also included sticking to vegetarian food and sleeping on a floor mat for an entire month. The actor had also refrained from cutting his hair or nails and shaving for about a month. This is the fourth time the actor is visiting Sabarimala.
On the work front, Ajay has Rajamouli's directorial 'RRR' and Sanjay Leela Bansali's 'Gangubhai Kathiawadi'. However, the release of both the movies has been postponed in the backdrop of surging Covid cases. He will be seen in a lead role for the remake of the Tamil film, Kaithi. The movie has been titled Bholaa in Hindi. Devgn is also directing a movie titled Runway 34 that has Amitabh Bachchan in the lead.
