Popular Bollywood playback singer Kanika Kapoor, who is famous across the country for her songs 'Baby Doll' and 'Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan,' was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus on Friday and had been admitted to the King George's Medical University (KGMU) hospital in Lucknow.
The reports from her third test came back on Tuesday night and the singer tested positive for the virus yet again. This comes after the second test that was taken on Sunday night, which also turned out positive. Kanika reportedly returned to Lucknow from London on March 15 and hosted a lavish party at a five-star hotel. Bureaucrats, politicians and socialites attended the party and all of them have been traced and tested. "We have traced and contacted 266 people, including 106 people in last 24 hours, all over India. These include some prominent politicians, who came in contact with singer Kanika Kapoor. We have tested more than 60 samples and all of them have been confirmed negative. I don't think we have more people to trace as we have already talked to all the organisers and people present in the four parties attended by her. We have traced the shops and salons she had visited. I don't think there is anything else remaining now," an official reportedly stated.
As of March 21 evening, the number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in India has crossed 628. Tamil Nadu has reported 23 cases so far.
