Bollywood rocked by another Suicide!

Stardom and depression go hand in hand - don't believe take a look at Tinsel Town and you will acknowledge that most film celebrities who have committed suicide have been victim of depression.
From the maverick filmmaker Guru Dutt to the bewitching and buoyant Divya Bharti to the sex symbol Silk Smitha to the struggling actress Jiah Khan each have been prey of despair and melancholy.
The latest to join the list of multiple suicides in Indian Cinema is Shikha Joshi (40) a struggling actress who made her presence felt in director Ajay Bahl's moderate successful film BA PASS (2012).
Briefing the media senior police inspector Ravindranath Pawar of Versova police station said, "Ms. Joshi was staying at her friend's place and was found in a serious condition with her neck slit by kitchen knife in her bathroom. She was rushed to nearby Kokilaben Hospital in Andheri where she was pronounced dead. Later, the body was sent to Cooper Hospital for post-mortem."
The police said the prima facie reveals a case of suicide. However as committing suicide by slashing one's own throat is a rarity hence the police is investigating every possible angle related to the death. The police have also not ruled a case of murder.
Besides Bollywood, the South Indian film industry too is plagued with many actors, more particularly actresses taking the harsh step.
According to Dr Lakshmi Vijayakumar, consultant psychiatrist and founder trustee, SNEHA, a suicide prevention centre in Chennai, the reason why film celebrities commit suicide is because actors are distanced from reality, get to the top positions quickly and go through sudden, sharp fluctuations in life.
