Wednesday turned out to be a very dark and unfortunate day for the entire nation as the Chief Of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 others members of the armed forces lost their lives after the helicopter carrying them crashed in Tamil Nadu. This is certainly a huge blow to the nation and its armed forces structure. Several Bollywood stars took to social media to express their condolances and grief.

Actress Kangana Ranaut, who'll soon be seen as an IAF pilot in her next, wrote on Instagram, "Most horrible news of the year the demise of Sh. #BipinRawat and his wife in a tragic helicopter crash. The nation will always be grateful to Gen Rawat for his service to the nation. Om Shanti. Jai Hind."

Superstar Salman Khan tweeted, "Very sad to hear of the tragic crash in which we have lost Gen Bipin Rawat his wife and other personnel from the Armed forces. My thoughts my prayers and condolences are with the bereaved families …" Actor Anupma Kher shared a bunch of pics with the late General and penned a heartfelt tribute for him.

General Rawat was the first CDS of our nation and he was given the task to integrate all three wings of armed forces into united theatre commands. His loss is going to crumble the development that we have made so far in developing integrated theatre commands.
